Gameplay Update 1: The Invisible
What's new in The Invisible gameplay update version 1?
In this update we have been focusing on features that make the game not only fun but perform better too.
For are selves have we organized or folder structures which makes for quicker development.
We did setup a new spawn point system with triggers which allows the player to basically go through a check point and when they die they spawn at the latest check point they checked in with.
At this point of time we don't have popups to show you that you reached a check point yet but this will be coming later.
Checkpoints are usually setup before taking difficult runs through the pipes as for example falling down or being launched out of a pipe.
We also reworked our Killzone system to work well with our new spawn point system. All the kill zones are networked now and will be spawned under you as soon as you attempt to get outside of the map.
We also have been working on a new collision system that checks of the player is colliding with objects this later will allow us to have you spin a 360 turn around the entire pipe you are in to make up for more fun actions and races against players to your final goal.
One of the things we improved on is our Slide Physics as it needs to become harder and harder to slide back up the pipes and you need to go faster the more you slide down the pipes.
The last thing we have been working on which is not yet there but coming up very soon is our custom player controller which allows us to create custom physics with the water system we are planning on which simulates that you are being flushed down the toilet.
This new water system will apply force on the player controller so that you can be pushed in all sorts of different directions based on where the water is flowing towards.
A very exciting thing is that the player controller integrates with our new collision system and will include additional features such as boosts and dives to go underwater that later will be possible to be triggered by pushing shift or ctrl.
On top of this will the new player controller work together with our upcoming characters such as the Turd, Rubber Duck and Toilet Paper which can be controlled by you our players.
